Who we are
House to House is a small church in Tacoma that meets in homes. We share a meal, read a passage of the Bible together, and talk honestly about it. Everyone has a place at the table.
What is House to House?
Many people in our community believe in God but feel disconnected from, skeptical of, or wounded by traditional church models. Even healthy, welcoming churches often struggle to engage people who are wary of organized religion yet deeply longing for connection, purpose, and meaning.
What if there was a way for a church community to go back to the basics and focus on service, community, and worship? What if we could create a space for people to explore faith without the baggage? What if there was a space for us to just be around a lot of other people that want to act just like Jesus?
How we're different
House to House Network exists to meet people where life already happens. Rather than asking people to come to church, we form missional communities around shared interests, shared meals, and shared discussion. We believe this model is biblically rooted (Acts 2:42-47), relational rather than program-driven, financially sustainable, and designed for multiplication rather than accumulation.
Five commitments that shape how we live together
-
Hospitality
Shared meals are central to who we are. Every gathering is intentionally welcoming. Hospitality extends beyond meals into how we listen, include, and care.
-
Service
A church doesn't exist without service. We serve alongside our neighbors, not just for them. Service is relational, humble, and responsive, not performative.
-
Growth
Every person is invited to take their next step toward Jesus and toward others. Growth is measured by faithfulness and obedience, not knowledge alone.
-
Accountability
We notice who is missing and take responsibility to pursue one another relationally. Leaders model vulnerability and consistency while everyone participates according to capacity.
-
Multiplication
We expect and celebrate disciples, leaders, groups, and microchurches to multiply over time. Simple, reproducible rhythms are prioritized over complex systems. See why we multiply
From connection, to community, to mission
-
Come to a Saturday
Most people start with brunch on a Saturday. You can also connect through a shared interest like walking, soccer, or neighborhood gatherings, where spiritual conversations come up naturally.
-
Deepen relationships
As relationships grow, the weekly gathering becomes your people: shared meals, discussion, and real community, in homes or third spaces like parks and cafes.
-
Discover your role
Everyone has gifts to share. Whether it's leading a discussion, hosting in your home, coordinating a service project, or mentoring someone new, you'll find your place in the mission.
-
Multiply impact
As you grow, you'll help launch new groups and develop new leaders. This is how the movement multiplies, creating more tables where everyone has a place to belong. See why we multiply
